The Lincoln softball team opened postseason tournament play on Monday, May 26, in 1A Sectional 56 with a game against Randolph Southern. The Eagles took a 16-0 lead after two innings and cruised to an 18-2 win in a game that was halted after five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
The Eagles collected 15 hits while Lexi McPheeters and Reilynn Ferguson combined to limit the Lady Rebels to just four. Addyson Pitcock had three hits for the winners. Paige Pitcock added two hits, including a grand slam home run, and drove in seven runs. Samantha Bell, Allison Clayton, Ferguson and Gabrielle Patterson also each had two hits.
With the win, the Eagles advanced to the Championship game, where they will face Union City. The Lady Indians advanced to the championship game by defeating Monroe Central by the score of 15-1.
