A Williamsburg couple will take its request for Wayne County to vacate an alley to the county commissioners.
During its Aug. 21 meeting, the Wayne County Advisory Plan Commission approved a resolution providing a positive recommendation for the alley vacation. Daryll and Lilah Webb brought their request before the commission in June.
They asked that the county vacate the 165-foot long and 10-foot wide alley next to their 8190 N. Centerville Road home. The Webbs said neighbors would park in the alley within inches of their house, blocking access to the Webbs’ garage.
If commissioners vacate the alley, the Webbs and their neighbors would each add 5 feet to their property. That would enable the Webbs to keep vehicles off their land, so parking would not be within 5 feet of their home.
