Cope Environmental Center invites nature enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to participate in CEC’s fifth annual Birdathon from May 3-19.
Participants can enjoy the colors and songs of feathered friends while raising funds to support CEC’s efforts to educate visitors about nature and to guide residents on choosing sustainable living practices.
Participants can bird solo, form a team of up to six or join an existing team. Dates for Birdathon are set to coincide with the height of spring migration. Birds can be seen in neighborhoods, bird feeders, lakes and ponds, or any bird hotspots in the country or world.
Participants are encouraged to keep a checklist and seek sponsors who will donate money per each distinct species of bird seen or make a flat donation.
Information about additional birding programs and registration is available at VisitCope.org or 765-855-3188.
