Both the Centerville boys and girls teams traveled to Milan on Tuesday, Jan. 14, for a four-team swim meet. Both Centerville squads were victorious.  

Event winners for the Centerville boys included: 

  • Devon Whaley, Thatcher Anderson-Thompson, Sean Whaley and Eli Brummett won the 200 medley relay. 
  • Brummett, Sawyer Murray, Eli West and Jayden Cornett won the 200 freestyle relay.
  • Anderson-Thompson, Sebastian Dam, Sean Whaley and Devon Whaley won the 400 freestyle relay.
  • Whaley won the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke.
  • Eli Brummett won the 50 freestyle and the 500 freestyle.
  • Anderson-Thompson won the 100 freestyle.

Final team standings for boys: Centerville 168, Milan 68, Rising Sun 28, Seton Catholic 3

Event winners for the Centerville girls included:  

  • Taylor Heaston, Anna Nevels, Avery Dickerson and Kenna Hemmerling won the 200 medley relay.
  • Sylvia Dam, Yare Moreno-Espitia, Evie Morgan and Nevels won the 200 freestyle relay.
  • Dickerson, Hemmerling, Moreno-Espitia and Morgan won the 400 freestyle relay.
  • Moreno-Espitia won the 200 freestyle and the 50 freestyle. 
  • Dickerson won the 100 butterfly.
  • Heaston won the 100 backstroke.
  • Nevels won the 500 freestyle.

Final team standings for girls: Centerville 129, Milan 94, Rising Sun 54, Seton Catholic 32
