Hagerstown, Williamsburg and Modoc cattle farmers have been recognized at a national Angus cattle show.

They were represented at the Atlantic National Super Point Roll of Victory (ROV) Angus Show on May 26 in Timonium, Maryland.

  • Coulter FCF All Due Respect claimed reserve grand champion bull honors. Sunrise Sunset Farm, Williamsburg; Circle M, Rockwall, Texas; and Ella Coulter, Wentzville, Mo., own the March 2023 son of BNWZ Dignity 8017 that first won junior calf champion.
  • Reserve Fall Heifer Calf Champion was SSF Blackcap N123, exhibited by Piper Cates of Modoc.

This is not the first national honor for Piper. Last year, she and Braylen Schaeffer of Hagerstown were on Indiana’s junior team that placed second in the nation during the American Certified Angus Beef Cook-Off at National Junior Angus Show.

  • SCC SCH 24 Karat 838 won premier sire at the show. Stertzbach Cattle Co., Louisville, Ohio; Tim Schaeffer Show Cattle, Hagerstown, Ind.; and Ryan & Bridgette Van Zee, Sioux Center, Iowa, own the winning bull. That same bull won sire of the year at the North International Livestock Exposition show and the All-American Angus Breeders’ Futurity show.

The Schaeffer family — and its livestock family — have received awards at several ROV Angus events.

Braylen Schaffer owns Karat’s January 2022 daughter, Core Annie Lu 24K 230K. Their recent honors include grand champion female at Keystone International Livestock Exposition, reserve junior champion heifer at American Royal Super Point, reserve grand champion owned female at North American International Livestock Exposition Junior Angus Show, and Division 6 junior champion heifer at National Junior Angus Show.
