Registration deadlines are nearing for some opportunities connected with Cambridge City’s annual Canal Days festival, which takes place Sept. 9-10.

  • Reservations are due Aug. 31 for the Lincoln High School reunion breakfast. The event, 9 a.m. Sept. 9, Golay Community Center, is open to graduates and teachers from 1942 through 1984.   • LHS’ Class of 1978 is celebrating its 45th reunion with a Sept. 9 gathering at The Archive, 33 W. Main St., for $30 per person. For more information, call 317-714-4563.
  • New Day Kiwanis members are organizing their 36th annual golf scramble and 11th annual car show.
    The golf scramble takes place at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Winding Branch Golf Course, 2290 S. Germantown Road, Cambridge City. Registrations are due Sept. 1. Participants must arrive by 7:30 a.m. For more information, call 812-327-7391 or 765-465-1343.
    Registration for the car show takes place from 8 a.m.-noon Sunday, Sept. 10, in Creitz Park for $15 per vehicle. Awards will be given at 1 p.m. before participants join the 2 p.m. downtown parade.

Registration forms, available at cambridgecityindiana.org, also are due Sept. 1 for festival vendors as well as parade entries.

Applications and booth rental fees may be delivered to Tamra Davis at Golay Community Center or Beth Leisure at National Road Antique Mall. Forms received after Sept. 1 will be accepted if spaces remain.

To be considered for parade awards, floats should follow the “A Walk Through Time” theme. Lineup begins at 1 p.m. Sept. 10.
