The 2A fifth-ranked Centerville basketball team hosted the Connersville Spartans on Saturday, Jan. 31, in a nonconference game. The Spartans made a strong bid to upset the Bulldogs. The two teams went to halftime deadlocked at 25-25 in a game played at a pace to Connersville’s liking.  

The Bulldogs dialed up their intensity in the third quarter, outscoring the Spartans 24-5, and were never seriously challenged again en route to a 64-48 win.  

Shea Hollendonner led the Bulldogs with 20 points and Ethan Vecera joined him in double figures with 10 points. Jay McMullen scored 14 points to lead the Spartans and Maddox Rees scored 11 points.
