Entering the Indiana State Championship game, Brownsburg represented only the Brownsburg  Little League. After defeating Hagerstown 8-3 in the championship game, played on Tuesday, July 22, Brownsburg now carries the Team Indiana moniker and will represent all Little Leagues in Indiana in the Great Lakes Regional as they continue their quest to advance to the Little League Series.

Brownsburg scored three runs in the top of the first inning and added runs in each of the next three innings to build an 8-1 lead heading to the fifth inning.

After holding Brownsburg scoreless in the top of the fifth inning, Hagerstown made a strong bid to get back in the game in the bottom of the fifth. Corbyn Harrison singled, Bryce Bragg drew a walk and Andy Tinkle, Adam Murphy and Quinn Schotterbeck all singled to cut the deficit to 8-3 when Brady Brown stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and two out. Brown hit a deep fly ball that would have cleared the bases, but the Brownsburg outfielder made a diving circus catch to preserve the Brownsburg lead.

Both teams had base runners in the sixth inning but neither could score, and Brownsburg celebrated their first state title win since 2021. Brownsburg collected 15 hits and left seven runners on base while Hagerstown collected nine hits and left nine runners on base. Seven of Hagerstown’s nine hits came in the final two innings.

Brownsburg will open play in the Great Lakes regional on Saturday, August 2, against Team Illinois.
