Drug Free Wayne County Partnership wants its new initiative to strengthen community connections and build a sense of belonging across Wayne County.

The “You Belong In Wayne” campaign aims to combat social isolation, enhance mental health and reduce substance misuse, according to a news release. It encourages individuals to build connections that improve mental health and offer a supportive environment to reduce substance abuse and promote recovery.

“We are excited to see this campaign come to life and hope to see it make a positive impact on our community,” said Tim Pierson, executive director with the Drug Free Wayne County Partnership. “Building a resilient, interconnected community where everyone feels seen, valued and supported is surely a goal of all Wayne County residents. If not, it should be.”

Mezzo Solutions, which is led by DFWCP treasurer Patrick Ripberger, was pivotal in developing the campaign. Components of the campaign include:

  • Daily greetings that create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Themed monthly challenges that foster interaction and support.
  • Social media engagement with the hashtag #YouBelongInWayne to spread positivity.
  • Community stories that are collected and shared to highlight the positives of community connection.

Drug Free Wayne County Partnership is looking for organizations and funders to extend the reach of the campaign. For more information about how to help, follow the group on social media or email drugfreewaynecountypartnership@gmail.com.
