Douglas “Doug” A. Christian, passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his family on Sunday October 9th, 2022, at 80 years of age. Born in LaPorte, Indiana, on June 8th, 1942, to parents, Oscar and Nina (Tibbs) Christian, he went on to graduate from Knox High School in Knox, Indiana with the class of 196l.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served four honorable years from 1963-1967. During his time in the Air Force, he served one year in Viet-Nam. After serving in the Air Force, Doug then went on to serve in the Active Air Force Reserves for six years at Grissom AFB from 1974-1980. Doug married the love of his life, the former Priscilla L. Hettler, in 1969 at Fort Myers, Florida. Doug served his community throughout his life by his involvement as a member of VFW Post 1108, an Officer of American Legion Post 287 of Centerville from 1986 till present, and 10th District Officer for five years. Doug was always thankful that he had the many opportunities and training that the United States Air Force gave him. He served for 20 years on the Selective Service Local Draft Board #22 from 1983-2003. Doug received the Golden Hoosier Award in 2012 from Richmond Area Nine and Indiana Vice Governor. Doug worked as a Telephone Technician for GTE-Verizon where he obtained an associate technical degree and retired after thirty-three years. Survivors include his spouse, Priscilla; daughter, Tyla J. (Mike) Hudon, of Anderson; son, Paul D. Christian (Chanda Benson) of Hagerstown; and grandsons, Brock and Bryce Hudon of Anderson; sister, Pat (Rick) Scharf of Ft. Myers, Florida.

Following cremation at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin, a Memorial Visitation will be held in the Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville at the convenience of the family.
