Sondra “Sandy” Kay Baldwin, 79, of Alpine, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 8, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born December 10, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana, one of five children of Cecil and Irene Bender Kirk. She attended Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis until 1960 when she moved to Connersville with her family, graduating from Connersville High School in 1961. Following high school, she attended Purdue University studying Veterinary science.

On February 23, 1963, she was married to Howard F. Baldwin in Connersville. Together, they lived most of their adult lives in the Alpine community. Mr. Baldwin survives.

For twenty years, Sandy was employed at Nulltown General Store. Later, she became an ordering clerk for Wells Lumber until her retirement.

She had been a member of the Columbia Community Center. In her leisure, she enjoyed reading, gardening, mushroom hunting, and feeding her hummingbirds. Along with her family, she loved participating in racing events.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Howard Baldwin; four children, Dale Baldwin of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Doug (Diana) Baldwin of Columbia, Indiana, Dawn (Mike) Eversole of Connersville, and Debbie Baldwin of Connersville; eleven grandchildren, Danika, Mitchell, Natalie, Joshua, Jazmine, Michael, Seth, Chase, Josie, Riley, and Ali; thirteen great grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth (Joyce) Kirk of Plainfield, Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a son, Devon Ray Baldwin, who passed away October 24, 2006; her parents, Cecil and Irene Kirk; a granddaughter, Maria; two sisters, Connie Kirk and Barbara Adkins; and a brother, Robert Kirk.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery.
