Jean Ann Mercurio Reding passed away July 29th, 2019.
Jean was born to Salvador and Thelma Leslie Mercurio in Richmond, Indiana. She attended Indiana Business College and after beginning her career in Richmond, moved to Saigon, Vietnam, to work for the Foreign Service Branch of the U.S. State Department. Jean then moved to Berlin, Germany, to work in the U.S. Mission in Berlin, Germany.
Jean is survived by four children: daughter Julie Curtis of San Antonio, Texas, daughter Lynn Strickland and husband David and their two children Lori and Brian of Boerne, Texas, daughter Kathleen Grossenbacher and her two sons Max and Sam of San Antonio, Texas, son Gregory Reding of Herndon, Virginia, and sister Margaret Borros of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Jean was active as a volunteer with the Assistance League of San Antonio, loved playing bridge, painting watercolors, needlepoint, and traveling throughout the world.
A private burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Richmond, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Jean may do so by contributing in her name to Friends of Hospice in San Antonio or a Hospice of your choice.
