John T. Glassman, age 56, passed away at home on August 26, 2022. He was born November 28, 1965, the son of Dolores and David Glassman, in Cleveland, Ohio.
John was a resident of Richmond, Indiana, and was a dear friend to many in the Richmond community. John had a heart of gold; he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He ran a food truck called Mojo’s, and before that, he served as a beloved general manager at Red Lobster. John was a die-hard sports fan. He loved to watch football and basketball; his favorite teams were Arizona Cardinals and Boston Celtics, respectively. He was a true fan, loyal to his team no matter how they performed. He loved music and probably attended more Rod Stewart concerts than anybody you know.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his sister and brother: Stephanie and Tavis Glassman; his sister-in-law: Jennifer Glassman; niece: Anastasia Glassman; and a host of other relatives including aunts, uncles, and cousins. Additionally, he adored his quasi-stepchildren: Taryn Haynes and Travis Felix (from different relationships); special friend: Lana Anderson; best friend: Tim Geisick; and too many other friends to mention (you know who you are). He will also be dearly missed by his dog and bird, Roscoe and Sammy, respectively.
He is preceded in death by his girlfriend: Michele McCoy Haynes; mother and father: Dolores and David Glassman; maternal grandparents: Mary and Harry Gates; paternal grandparents: Dorothy & Irving Glassman.
The family would like to express special thanks to Hospice (Richmond, IN), in particular, the nurse and social worker who displayed exceptional grace and compassion.
There will not be a funeral service, John didn’t want that. Instead, check Facebook for updates regarding a Celebration of Life event. Send online condolences to the family via the guestbook at www.communityfamilyfh.com
If you choose, rather than sending a flower arrangement, please donate to the Humane Society in John Glassman’s name at: https://www.humanesociety.org/.
