Norma Jane Barth, 87, of New Paris, Ohio was called to heaven on Thursday, September 1st, 2022 at her home with loved ones by her side. She was born in Richmond, Indiana on August 3rd,1935 to Virgil and Dorothy Crandall.
Norma and her husband Joe were married for 47 years and in that time they built a life together and lovingly raised their 12 children. One of their favorite family traditions included Norma and Joe dressing as Mr. and Mrs. Claus each Christmas. She was a devout member of St. John Catholic Church and volunteered for numerous organizations. She was also a member of the Italian Ladies Club and VFW auxiliary. She loved to cook and everyone was always invited to her table. She enjoyed the last two years of her life by solving puzzles and sharing them with her family on Facebook. She loved having the comments read to her and keeping up with her many relatives online. She worked many jobs and eventually retired from Wayne Works. She also loved bingo so much that she organized and started senior bingo in Richmond, Indiana. Norma also loved going to the casino and was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds. She participated in bowling leagues and had a strong love for music. She especially loved singing happy birthday and singing loudly while in church. Norma was dearly loved by us all, but we know she loved us more. This isn’t goodbye, just see you later.
Survivors include her Children: Donna (Bob) Barth, Michael (April Miles) Barth, Bob (Donna) Barth, Terrence (Toni Stratton) Barth, Rose (Nick) Sbrocchi, Kathy Silvers, Steven (Monica) Barth, Timothy Barth, William (April Carter) Barth, Juliana Rose and special lifelong friend to the end Roxanne Smith She loved her 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe Barth, her sons Mark Gray, Jonathan Gray, and brothers Dick Crandall, Robert Crandall, Bill Crandall, Jimmy Crandall, and sister Melva Meyn.
Visitation will be held from 3-6pm on Monday September 5, 2022, at Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary, 32 S 11th St. Richmond, IN 47374. A funeral mass for Norma will begin at 10:30am on Tuesday September 6, 2022, in St. John Catholic Church, 400 N Spring St. New Paris, OH 45347. Father David Doseck will officiate. Burial will immediately follow in Spring Lawn Cemetery.
