M. Annette Cross, 79, of New Castle passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022 at I.U Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born on March 9, 1943 in Albany, KY, a daughter of the late Thurston and Goldie (Ballenger) Jones.
Annette loved her family and was the magnet that drew everyone together. She would rather be around family than traveling or taking vacations. Annette was adored by her grandchildren and the feeling was mutual. Annette loved the Lord and going to church; her favorite book was the Bible and her favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and especially enjoyed cooking; she made the best cole slaw ever and had numerous cookbooks in her collection. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Indianapolis Colts and was very good at remembering statistics.
Survivors include her children, Patricia A. (Fred) Bartrom, Teresa L. Cross Brand and Michael G. (Amber) Cross; grandchildren, Brandon Bartrom, Benjamin Brand, Christin (Ryan) Millage, Lauren Cross, Elijah Brand and Andrew Cross; three great grandchildren, Landon Millage, Rohen Lee Brand and Hudson Millage; siblings, Becky Patton, Melba Smith, John (Trish) Jones; aunt, Wanda Lee (Koger) Sloan; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Annette was preceded in death by her husband, Benny G. “Sailor Boy” Cross; siblings, Bob Jones, Jim Jones and Geneva Jones.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Central Grove Cemetery in Albany, KY. Memorial contributions maybe given to the Little Red Door in Annette’s honor.
