Jerry W. Kriner, age 78, a New Castle resident, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 13, 2019.
He was born September, 21, 1940 in New Castle, IN, a son of the late Gilbert and Juanita Kennedy Kriner.
Jerry was a 1960 graduate of Straughn High School and received an Associate’s Degree from the University of Detroit.
Jerry was a lifelong resident of Henry County and was retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1999 after 37 years of service.
He was a member of the Park Place Free Methodist Church, and the United Auto Workers Union # 371.
He loved family activities and animals, and raised Siberian Huskies.
Jerry enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit ten countries and 42 of the United States.
He was an avid sportsman, enjoying all sports and coached Babe Ruth for 15 years and he also coached Optimist Basketball.
Left to cherish his loving memory include his wife of 50 years, Linda J. Linville Kriner, who he married September 8, 1968
.Also, two daughters, Norma J. Kriner (Christopher) McCubbins , New Castle, and Mary L. Kriner (Brian) Stidman, Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren, Hannah McCubbins, Hunter McCubbins, Hayden McCubbins, Nolan Stidham, and Caisen Stidham; one sister, Debra Kriner Tinkle, Knightstown; and two brothers, James (Martha) Kriner, Chesterfield, IN, and Michael Kriner, Fortville, IN; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parentsGilbert and Juanita Kennedy Kriner. a brother-in-law, Larry Tinkle and an infant brother, Richard Kriner.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
The funeral will be at 1 pm on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services officiated by Rev Monte Vincent and Rev Jay Vincent.
Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Garden.
