Bobby V. McCartt, 83, of Indianapolis, and formerly of New Castle, passed away Thursday morning, June 23, 2022 at University Heights Health Care in Indianapolis. He was born March 21, 1939 in Stearns, KY, a son of the late Robert Vernon and Marian (Privett) McCartt.
A 1957 graduate of New Castle High School, Bobby graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Bobby had worked at Chrysler Corporation and Modernfold Industries in New Castle and also was Director of Public Works for the city of New Castle. He also worked for Zimmer Paper Products in Indianapolis. After retirement, his love of the outdoors took him to work at Westwood Park in New Castle.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in New Castle and enjoyed his Greyhound rescue dogs. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Megan (Michael) Wright of South Bend, Craig (Koren) McCartt of Greenwood, and Collin (Sunshine) McCartt of Indianapolis; 8 grandchildren, Clark (Kirsten) Wright of Nashville, TN, Carson (Addie) Wright of Muncie, Chloe Wright and Cole Wright, both of South Bend, Kelsey (Cody) Smith of Lafayette, Lauren McCartt of Indianapolis, Blake McCartt and Macy McCartt, both of Greenwood; two great grandchildren, Hugh and Marlo; a brother, Carroll (Patricia) McCartt of Mt. Summit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Vernon and Marian McCartt and his wife, Nancy McCartt.
Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with services beginning at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Indiana-Greyhound Rescue at www.greyhoundrescue.com.au.
