Emma Florence Bennett Andy, 98, of Richmond, Indiana passed away on May 14, 2022. She was born to William McKinley Bennett and Alice Martha Woodson Bennett on January 18, 1924 in Richmond, Indiana. She attended Hibberd School and graduated from Boston High School in 1942. She was employed at Perfect Circle and spent over thirty years at Morrison Reeves Library.
Emma enjoyed bowling, reading, working puzzles, quilting and singing. She especially enjoyed bowling, the Pacers and politics. Emma volunteered at Reid Hospital and sang in several choirs. She was baptized at the age seven at Second Baptist Church. In later years she became an active member of Bethel AME Church. Emma was generous in her donations to charitable causes.
Her two year old son Ronald Edward Logan preceded her in death. She also suffered the death of her husband of forty two years Fredrick J. Andy in 2000, her parents and step parents Flossie Bennett and Vernon Scott.
Emma is survived by her cousins and friends. Special thanks are extended to Mary Jo Flood and Yvette Williams who awarded faithful service.
Funeral service will be held on Friday May 20, 2022 at 1pm at Bethel AME Church, with visitation from 12pm-1pm. Entombment will follow at Earlham Cemetery.
