Gerald E. Bane, 89, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 at his home. He was born October 4, 1932 in Greens Fork, IN to the late Charles and Sylvia Bane and was a 1950 graduate of Greens Fork High School. He was a lifelong farmer in the Mt. Olympus community and drove a school bus for many years for the North Gibson School Corporation, served as a director for WIN Energy and the Farm Service Agency. Member of the Mt. Olympus Lions Club and the Union Bethel Church.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Cornelia, and they were married June 23, 1951; sons, Barry (Sandy) and Dennis (Leesa); grandchildren, Brad (Heather), Erin (Justin) Schmitt and Greg (Stacey); 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Lucille Coddington, Rosalee (Claude) Caudle, Charles (Ruth) Bane, Delores George, Juanita Carter, Karen (Ed) Miller, Linda (Bob) Bane, Kathy (Gary) Adamson; a sister-in-law, Patricia Bane; a brother-in-law, Terry Campbell; also, many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Maurice and Kenneth Bane; sisters, Evelyn Harris, Marjorie McMullen and Marcia Campbell; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Bane and Nancy Bane; brothers-in-law, Reide Harris, Ronald Coddington, Reginald McMullen, Paul George, Stan Carter and Milton McRoberts.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am CDT Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Larry Dodge and Rev. Thomas Hubachek officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery near Hazleton. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 pm CDT Monday, May 9th at the funeral home.
