RICHMOND, Ind. – Sibyl Gay Price, age 97, of Richmond, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Arbor Trace Exceptional Senior Living.
Born September 17, 1919, in Mark Tree, Arkansas, to Argus Ostry and Drucilla Steele Holloway, Sibyl lived in Richmond most of her life. She graduated from Morton High School in 1938. Sibyl worked as an accountant for AVCO, retiring in 1970 after 18 years of service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Richmond Arts Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Paul) Vertesch of Centerville, Indiana; grandchildren, Jana Drew of Centerville, Jeff (Portia) Drew of New Mexico, Andra (Jr.) Solis and Shannon Hicks, both of Hagerstown, and Tyler (Amanda) Dougherty of Westfield, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Mikenzie (Jacob) Stewart, Madison, Bailey, and Derek Davis, Sammy and Isabella Solis, Mason Hicks, and twins, Emma and Ellie Hicks; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Malvern ‘Mal’ Price who died September 2, 2012; daughter, Joan Dougherty; and brother, Herschel Holloway.
Visitation for Sibyl Gay Price was from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service followed at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ronald Naylor officiating. Burial was in Earlham Cemetery.
