Mei Hui Cushing, 76, passed away at her home in Greens Fork, Indiana on April 6, 2022. A daughter of the late Yuan-Chun Liao and Jin-Gui (Wu) Liao, Mei was born in Taipei, Taiwan on June 23, 1945. Mei married her former husband, David A. Cushing in Taiwan in 1974 while he was stationed there with the United States Navy. They moved to Annapolis, Maryland in 1975 and Connersville, Indiana in 1979. She has made her home in Wayne County since the 1990’s. Mei was a homemaker and also worked in Connersville for Commercial Printing and the News Examiner as a layout designer. She had also been employed as a hostess at Jade House and Jade Palace restaurants in Richmond. She enjoyed singing karaoke.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Dustin (Marsha) Cushing of Richmond and Scott (Patricia) Cushing of Greens Fork; 5 grandchildren, Clayton, Carlie, Claira, Cayla and Charlotte Jo “Charlie”; 3 brothers, Kwong-Kum Liao, Kwong-Zhuo Liao and Kwong-Sung Liao of Taiwan. Mei was also preceded in death by a brother, Jing-Yi Wu.

A memorial visitation will be at Cambridge City Christian Church from 2 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 4 p.m. on Thursday April 14, 2022.
