Elvina Williamson, 88, of New Castle, went to be with Jesus on Sunday evening, March 20, 2022 following an extended illness. She was born June 4, 1933 in Burr Oak, Michigan to the late Leo and Elizabeth (Nussbaum) Currier.

In Michigan, Elvina worked at Kirsch Drapery Company. After moving to New Castle, she worked at Huntington Industries and then retired from New Castle Transit, where she enjoyed driving a bus for many years. She was a longtime member of Foursquare Gospel Church in New Castle and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Caring, thoughtful and very kind-hearted, Elvina enjoyed listening to gospel music.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Yvonne Williamson of New Castle and Kim (Kristi) Williamson of New Castle; grandchildren, Trevor Williamson of New Castle, Kayla Williamson of New York, NY, Sarah Williamson of Indianapolis, Kenzi Williamson and Niah Williamson, both of New Castle; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Williamson of Indianapolis; a sister, Mary (Jerry) Cronkhite of Burr Oak, MI; two brothers, Paul Currier of Sturgis, MI, and William Currier of Burr Oak, MI; sister-in-law, Barbara Currier of Burr Oak, MI; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Williamson in 2000;; a son, Kenny Williamson; a sister, Catherine Brinkley, and two brothers, John Currier and Samuel Currier.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m., noon, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Jim Becker and Shelley Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service, Thursday at the funeral home.
