Elmo Lynch, 89, of Connersville, died Monday, March 7, 2022 at Reid Health in Richmond.
Elmo was born November 5, 1932 in Owsley County, Kentucky to Wiley I. and Allie Lynch. He was raised in McKee, Kentucky prior to moving to the Connersville area in 1954. Elmo married the former Marilyn Marie Drew on March 2, 1956. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, mowing his yard, and watching his boys race their trucks. Elmo was an avid bluegrass fan, attending the local bluegrass music festivals. He liked taking care of his loyal dog and watching old westerns. Elmo loved driving to see his children and spending time with them; he always made sure he spoke to them every day.
Elmo is survived by his sons: David B. Lynch and his spouse Mary of Milan, Bradley K. Lynch of Columbia; daughter: Deborah J. Evans and her spouse, Danny; siblings: Glendon Lynch, Wayne Lynch and Debbie, Wiley Lynch Jr. and Ladonna, Ruby Burke and Donald; grandchildren: Josh and Karlie Dickey, Kaitlin and Russell Pitts; great-grandchild: Phillip Pitts
In addition to his parents, Elmo is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years; two brothers: Wendell and Lonnie Lynch.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2022 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Mal Gibson officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Humane Society.
