Mildred M. Carroll, 101, passed away on Monday evening, February 7, at Arbor Trace in Richmond.

She was born in Fountain City, Indiana, on November 25, 1920, to James Roy and Maud Estella Skinner Carroll.

She earned a Master’s Degree from Earlham College. She was an educator who taught English in Richmond and Fountain City Schools, in Iran with the Peace Corps, and on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation in North Dakota. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Richmond.

Aunt Millie will be missed by her niece, Marsha Carroll; niece by marriage, Roberta Montoney; great-nieces, Tammy Alyea and Cathy Thompson; great-nephews, Mike Montoney, Marc Montoney and Jim Carroll; great-great-nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Edith Metzger, Grace Knoll, Dorothy Montoney, Virginia Reynolds, infant sister Lena Carroll; brother, Harold Carroll; half-sisters, Virginia Reynolds and Barbara Angi; half-brothers, Richard Carroll and Pat Carroll.

A public graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, in Willow Grove Cemetery.
