James Lyndel Fleming, 85, of Williamsburg, passed away on Monday, January 17, at Reid Health.
He was born on July 9, 1936 in Gage, Kentucky to Harl & Maudie Mae Franklin Fleming. He married the former Norma J. Wickett on March 11, 1960. They were blessed with three children and 54 years of marriage before Norma’s death on July 25, 2014.
Lyndel logged many, many miles as a truck driver. When he wasn’t on the road, he enjoyed raising cattle and gardening on his farm as well as spending time with his grandsons.
Lyndel will be missed by his daughters, Debby Esarey & her husband, Steve; and Teresa Reynolds; son, Mike Fleming; daughter-in-law, Lori Fleming; grandchildren, Derik Fleming I & his wife, Alicia, Ryan Reynolds & his companion, Stephanie Begley, Lucas Fleming & his wife, Jenny, and JJ Fleming & his wife, Allison; great-grandchildren, Derik Fleming II, Allie Fleming, Mason Pedigo, Austin Fleming Hudson Fleming, Jackson Fleming and Maddie Fleming; his friend, Joanna Ingermann; sister, Joyce Crump and her husband, Glen; and brother, Edward “Bud” Fleming and several nieces & nephews.
Lyndel was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter, Amanda Reynolds, and sister, Mary Evelyn Griffith.
Private services will be observed at the convenience of his family. Entombment will be in Earlham Mausoleum in Richmond.
