John Edward Tangeman, age 83, of Richmond, Indiana, died Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born January 14, 1938, in Richmond, Indiana, to Edward and Catherine Althaus Tangeman, John was a life-long resident of this community. He served in the U.S. Marines. John was a bartender at The Lampost in New Paris, Ohio, for 40 years and worked at Wayne Corporation for over 20 years. He enjoyed playing golf and assembling metal models.
Survivors include his children, Kelly (Tom) Reynolds of Richmond, Richard Tangeman of Huntsville, Alabama, and Pam Crawford of Richmond; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Moody of St. Petersburg, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Linda E. Steele Tangeman, who died May 25, 2021; parents; and sisters, Patricia Irvine and Mary Lou Dickerson.
There will be no public services for John Edward Tangeman. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
