Robert S. Lackey, 80, a lifelong resident of Connersville, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at Reid Health in Richmond. He had been a patient there for the past week.
He was born August 14, 1941 in Connersville, one of four children of Herman C. and Z. Louise Tyner Lackey.
He attended Connersville schools and was employed by Colonial Bakery from 1963 to 1983. He had also worked at the First United Methodist Church and Mace and Marsh Supermarkets.
A member of First Baptist Church, he had been active in the Civil Defense. In his leisure, he enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include nieces, nephews, cousins, and his best friend, Andy Belt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ralph and Jack Lackey, and a sister, Marjorie Zerr.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Mal Gibson at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Gravel Lawn Cemetery at Fortville, Indiana. Friends may call at the church from noon until the time of service on Wednesday. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
