Jennifer Kay Johnson left us for heaven, suddenly and unexpectedly, on Friday,
November 19, 2021.
Jenny was born on February 28, 1971 to Elzy (since passed) and Greta Sue Johnson. Raised on a small farm outside of Modoc, she was the youngest child of five. Her siblings include: Lee Ann, Lisa, Mike, and Scott. She attended Modoc United Methodist Church, where she never missed summer Bible School. She graduated from Union High School in 1989, completing dental assisting school shortly thereafter.
She loved vacationing in Montana (to see her uncle, Leland, whom she adored) and swimming at Tall Trees Campground with her friends Linda and Kari.
In 1990, she left Modoc to reside in Pennsylvania, where she married Jeffrey Luttrell (since passed), then in 2002, she married Joey Gibson, with whom she shared much happiness. Later, in 2009, she moved to Yellow Springs, OH where she became a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant. She found great fulfillment in this work, as she was able to educate and connect with individuals through a lens of her own experiences.
She moved back to Modoc in 2014 to help care for father, and then to New Castle in 2015. Jenny loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, beautiful flowers, dressing up for selfies, going to the ocean, swimming, and rock-n-roll. Jenny’s greatest love, however, were her 3 children, Justin, Jordan, and Jessica, and her 2 grandchildren. She was known fondly as ‘Aunt Jenny’ to many for her child-like soul, her endless affinity toward fun, and her ability to love fiercely, wholly, and unconditionally. She will be missed by us all. Rest in peace, Jenny-Pooh.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
