Norma “Jean” H. Bailey, age 100, of The Villages, Florida, died Saturday, November 13, 2021.
Jean was born on December 7, 1920, in Irwin, Ohio, the daughter of John William and Nora Edna Crabbe Houck. She had been a resident of Richmond from 1986 to September 2017, moving here from Cambridge, Ohio, and had formerly lived in Richmond from 1966 to 1976. Mrs. Bailey was a retired nurse, who formerly worked with Head Start in Richmond. She was also a W.W.II veteran and member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Roberta L. “Bobbi” (Jimmy) Winchester of Richmond and Cathy I. (Rick) Gray of The Villages; son, Mark Edward (Dawn) Bailey of Indianapolis, Indiana; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Guy of Milford Center, Ohio; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Stanley E. Bailey; brother, Harold Houck; sisters, Eileen Siebold and Maxine Hart; and grandson, Ryan Bailey.
A memorial service for Norma “Jean” H. Bailey will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 800 North A Street, Richmond, with The Rev. Dr. Barbara Anne Fisher officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
