Stanley R. Kendall, 74, a resident of New Castle passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 at his home. He was born May 18, 1947 in New Castle to the late Paul and Betty (Staub) Kendall.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Viet Nam War. Stanley worked in construction for many years, retiring in 1971. A jokester, he enjoyed fishing and playing UNO with his family, But more than anything, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include three children: Kendra (Crystal) Johnston, Melissa Kendall (fiancé: Travis Armstrong) and Nicole (Dennis) Sparks; grandchildren: Garrett Wise (Cassie Dowling), Dale Mastin (Emilee Whited), Kaitlynn Mastin, Waylon Mastin, Anthony Sparks, William Armstrong, Eric Lancaster, Jailynn Lancaster, Skyler Johnston, Caleb Scharbrough and Cameron (Kara) Scharbrough; great-grandchildren: Brayden, Raelynn, Ava, Cameron, Jr., Raiden and Aryanah; a brother: Barry (Lisa) Kendall; several nieces, nephews and close friends, including Scott Delozier and Julie Green.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Lee Kendall in 2018 and brothers: Scott, Larry, Lanny and Karol Kendall.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Chaplain Christopher Suder officiating Military rites will be conducted by a contingent of the U.S. Army, American Legion and the VFW. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, November 26 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Stanley Kendall Memorial Fund to assist with his grandchildren’s education.
