Lillian M. Gooding Hoff, age 95, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Friends Fellowship Community.
Born February 3, 1926, in Marseilles, Illinois, to Albert M. and Lillie Fern Houges Natwick, Lillian lived in Richmond most of her life. She was a 1944 graduate of United Township High School in East Moline, Illinois, and a graduate of Black Hawk Business College in Moline, Illinois. Lillian worked as a secretary for John Deere Harvester Company, International Harvester Company, and Wernle Children’s Home. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Lillian was also a member of P.E.O., Chapter CT and enjoyed season memberships for many years at the Richmond Civic Theatre, Richmond Symphony Orchestra, and former Whitewater Opera Company. Her little giggle and sweet smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Rebecca (Marc) Jaffe of Carmel, Indiana, and Pamela (John) Hedges of Andover, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Carol Gooding of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Jesse (Heather) Gooding of St. Petersburg, Florida, Sara Jaffe (Michael Berman) of Chicago, Illinois, Melissa Jaffe (Austin Peters) of Westfield, Indiana, Rossianne Jaffe of Plymouth, Minnesota, Alex (Katie) Hedges of Andover, and Chase Hedges of Isanti, Minnesota; and great-grandchildren, June Berman, Hudson and Lillie Hedges, and Ruby and Nolan Peters. Other survivors include the Hoff family, Susan (Bob) Bell of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Barry (Linda) Hoff of Strawberry, Arizona; grandchildren, Allyson, Ryan, Jeremy, Trevor, and David; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, David J. Hoff, who died November 24, 2007; first husband, Ansel Gooding, who died March 24, 1976; beloved son, Steven Gooding, who died November 21, 2011; parents; and brothers, Leonard, Ernest, and Albert L. Natwick.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Friends Fellowship for the care, support, and love they gave to their mother over the years, as well as her caregivers, Donna Jurgens and the late, Sally Conti.
Visitation for Lillian M. Gooding Hoff will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Bell officiating. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Doan & Mills website for those unable to attend. Private burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
