Marion C. Watt, 93, Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, November 10 at Reid Health.
He was born on April 10, 1928 in Dublin, Indiana to Peter Clyde & Viola May Stewart Watt. He was a 1947 graduate of Greens Fork High School. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, serving with the 61st Field Artillery Battalion. His unit earned one bronze campaign star in Korea.
Marion was a member of Lifespring Church since 1998. He was a member of Harry Ray Post 65, American Legion. He worked at AVCO as a machinist, retiring in 1993. He and his wife, Charlene enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years.
Marion will be missed by his wife of nearly 28 years, Charlene Himes Watt, whom he married on December 19, 1993; step-sons, Michael Hogle and James Hogle; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Ruth Moore Watt, in 1991; step-son, Franklin Hogle, Jr., in 1987; step-daughter, Robin Ratliff, in 2018; sisters, Alice Bowne, Mildred Wilson and Betty Luttrell; and brother, Howard Watt.
Pastor Dave Anderson will conduct a funeral ceremony at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Goshen Cemetery, with military rites rendered by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
Family & friends may gather from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16 at the funeral home.
