Ruby Carroll Black, 81 of Richmond passed away in her home, October 18, 2021. She was born August 17, 1940, in Garrett Co., Kentucky to Albert and Ruby Pruitt Powell and lived in this area most of her life.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her five sons, Gordon (Cathy) Black, Charles Black, James (Brenda) Black, Kenneth (Sally) Black, Albert (Patricia) Black, two daughters Sharron (Micah Sr.) Mann, Carolyn (Kenneth) Thomas; twenty-nine grandchildren Amanda, Brandy, Candy, Eugenia, Charles Jr., Tommy, Sierra, Mindy, RJ, James Jr., Jeremy, Tiffany, Vicki, Jerry, Kenny Jr., Silvia, Ashly, Jesse, Cody, Michelle, Micah Jr., Trina, Samantha, Chastity, Jacob, Elaine, Dustin, Marvin, Brandi, eighty-four great and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters Evelyn Blevins, Nan (JC) Jones, Wanda Powell, several nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy who died in 2007, one granddaughter Shannon Harris, three great-great-grandsons, Isaac, Dylan, Oliver, one brother Bobby Wayne Coyle, two sisters Betty Bond, and Oma Cook.
Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, October 22, 2021, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Stensaas officiating; burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
