Debra L. Bowling, age 68, Richmond, passed away at her residence on October 13, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 21, 1953, to Charles and Anna Mae Ollis, in Bedford, Indiana.
Debra had lived in the Wayne County area most of her life. Debra loved Jesus and was a prayer warrior. She loved going to church and visiting the Temple of God Church, listening to Pastor Lewellan preach. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. Debra had a heart of gold and a great/funny sense of humor. She was loved and will be missed by everyone.
Debra was a great cook; her specialties were making biscuits and gravy, spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, and ham and beans.
She enjoyed going to garage sales, going out to eat, shopping at Goodwill stores, gambling, going to Las Vegas and playing Bingo. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: two daughters: Melissa Harlan (husband, David) and Lorie Boatman; son: Billy Wayne Bowling (wife, Beverly); one sister: Sherry Asher; seven grandchildren: Cierra Apsley, Sumer Robbins, Kelsey Boatman, Karey Robbins, Bradley Bowling, Brandon Bowling and Briley Bowling; nine great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She also leaves a best friend of 48 years, Betty Balthis.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Public visitation will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021, at North 27 Worship Center, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Community Family Funeral Home, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Gary Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Send online condolences to the family via the guestbook at www.communityfamilyfh.com
