Martha McWilliams, age 79, a New Castle resident, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born February 1, 1942 in Meridian/Laurderdale County, Mississippi, a daughter of Sute Mae and Tempie Clark.
Before Martha’s retirement, she served as a “very well loved” caretaker within multiple locations of Cardinal Services. She was an encourager and forgiving women who made no enemies and loved everyone. She was known as a “God-fearing” woman who loved singing the gospel and ministering to others. Martha was a member of the Bethany Tabernacle Church. In later years, she received in-home ministering by Pastor Suggs and Joyce Harris in addition to Evangelist Clifford and his wife. Martha also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and especially cooking for her family as well as many others she would come in contact throughout her Christian life. She will be missed dearly by many.
Left to cherish her loving memory include her husband of 60 years, Willie A. McWilliams; four daughters, Lueisea Alford of New Castle, Doris (husband, Ron) Branch of Atlanta, Georgia, Deborah Turner and Sheila (husband, Julious) Alford, both of New Castle; 12 grandchildren, Willie, Robert (wife, Meconya), Dornale, Anthony (wife, Dani), Ashley, Ebony, Summer (fiancé, Taurus), Andre’ (wife, Kasey), Andrew, Aaron, Terrance, Thornton, and Alvin; 11 great-grandchildren, Yani, Nevaeh, Alijah, Shaelyn, Christopher, Akiyah, Christian, Quinn, Niah, Roland, and Taurus; two sisters, Ivoner and Luerene; three brothers, Eugene, Marvin, and Mosley Clark; several nieces, nephews, cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mae and Timpie Clark; three sisters, Lizzie, Mary and Odie; one brother, Leslie.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Macer-Hall-Marcum and Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad Street, New Castle. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2021 at the funeral home. Funeral directors and staff are honored to serve the McWilliams family.
