Jamie Emmett Hobbs, 37, of Hagerstown, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Henry Community Health.
He was born on March 2, 1984 to Terry and Debbie Hobbs and was a life long resident of the Hagerstown area. Jamie graduated from Hagerstown High School, Class of 2003. Jamie proudly served with the US Marine Corps during the Iraq war. He was currently employed as a case manager at New Castle Correctional Facility. He was a member of Hagerstown Lodge #49, F&AM and American Legion Post 333. If you knew Jamie, you had a best friend for life he knew no strangers. He was the life of every party, and if there wasn’t a party- he made it one. Jamie loved the Chicago Cubs, ice cold beer, history and above all his family. He loved his family and cold beer so much that he created an annual event called hobbsfest where family, friends that are basically family, and even strangers would eat, drink and sing karaoke. Jamie also loved a good terrible joke, being loud, and quoting movies.
Survivors include his wife and soulmate , Courtney Hobbs; his 3 children, whom he loved endlessly, and also carry on his sense of humor and ambition, Natalie, Tad and Reilly; his parents, Terry and Debbie Hobbs; his little sister, Megan Hobbs (fiancé and best bro Kyle Turner); his maternal grandfather, Bill Amick; paternal grandparents Joe and Bessie Weber; Godparents Keith and Patty Brown as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Beverly Amick; paternal grandparents, Ted and Dot Hobbs; an uncle and brother in service, Leonard Hobbs and a cousin, Kelly Brown.
Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 11, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Rev. Ray Armstrong will officiate. Burial will follow in Brick Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 PM on Friday, at the funeral home.
