Freda J. Baker, age 80, Richmond, passed away on Wednesday August 4, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Smokey Valley, Kentucky on June 23, 1941 to Romie and Virginia Lawhorn Butler. Freda graduated from Carter County High School in Olive Hill, Kentucky and married her love James Edward Baker in 1962. They had lived in the Richmond community since 1969. Freda was the strongest woman ever and dedicated her life to taking care of her son Ricky. She always took care of everyone before herself and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children JR (Nancy) Baker, Steven “Eddie” (Lisa) Baker, Ricky Baker and Kevin (Angie) Baker; siblings Connie Butler, AC Butler, Cookie Stout, Kathy Smith, Carol Purdy and Jeanie Small; grandchildren Ashley (Eddie) Durham, Rick (Rhea) Baker, Victoria “Tori” Baker, Kaleb Baker, Kyler Baker, Michaela Baker, Brittany Laird and Halea Laird; 13 great-grandchildren; Brothers-in-law Bobby Baker and Wayne Baker and their families, many other nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James Edward Baker; her parents and brothers Quinten Butler, Grady Butler, Grover Butler and Boots Butler.

Services for Freda will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday August 10, 2021 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary with a burial to follow at Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday August 9, 2021 at the funeral home.
