Geraldine E. “Gerri” (White) Morgan, 83, of New Paris, Ohio, died Saturday, July 31, 2021 at her residence. Born on April 23, 1938 in Sumter, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late J. Newton & Rena (James) White.

As a young girl Gerri worked at her parent’s grocery store. In 1953 while working at the store a young man serving in the United States Air Force caught her eye. It was at that moment she had found the love of her life Leonard V Morgan. On January 5, 1956, Leonard and Gerri married in South Carolina. After the honeymoon, Leonard and Gerri moved to New Paris, Ohio.

Gerri owned and operated Gerri’s Flowers & Gifts in New Paris, Ohio for several years. Anyone who knew her loved her flower work. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority for many years. She also was a member of Easter Star #563 where she served as Worthy Matron as well as the Grand State Representative in the state of Ohio for Nebraska where she and Leonard traveled and attended chapter meetings. Gerri was always known for her cooking and would always have lots of home cooked dishes. She was also a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Paris, Ohio for many years and later became a member of First United Methodist Church in Richmond, Indiana.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Reuben White, Rounette Laubscher, Dorothy Justice and Orie Nesbitt. She is also preceded by a granddaughter: Macie Sue Morgan.

Survived by her Husband of 65 years, Leonard V Morgan, Sons: Bill (Peggy) Morgan; Lenny (Hollie) Morgan, and Rob (Bonnie) Morgan; Brothers: Scott (Grace) White, Jack (Jean) White; Sister: Molly (Luke) Hendrix. Grandchildren: Kevin Ball, Michael Morgan, Elysia (PJ) Terrill, Geralyn (Josh) Gray, Natalie (Stephen) Morgan, Leonard Morgan, III as well as 9 great Grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Private Funeral Service will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Terry Campbell officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
