Hurley A. Berry, age 78, of Richmond went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2021, while she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 10, 1942, to John and Cora Spivey Fox in Estill county, Kentucky. Hurley moved to the area in 1960 and married Bethel Berry on September 15, 1961, in Richmond, Indiana. She worked for 22 years at PRC and 15 years at Reid Health. She handmade some amazing quilts, “Granny Hurley blankets” is what her grandkids and great grandkids called them, and she loved her flowers and tending to her garden.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Rhonda (Mike) Hylton; grandchildren Luishia (Aaron) Simmons and Taria Gray; great grandchildren Joanna Wetzel, Toby Mercer, Patrick Simmons, Genna Simmons, Tony Wetzel, Ethan Wetzel, Andria Long and Ayden Gray; 3 great great grandchildren; nephew Steve Fox who will be officiating the service, a special thank you to nephew Frank Fox for his exceptional care and willingness to help whenever needed and her special cat “Miss Kitty”. The family would like to send a special “thank you” to Brenda Reynolds for providing loving care for Hurley in her final days. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Bethel, brothers Edward Fox, Everet Fox, Elbert Fox, Ezart Fox, Ledford Fox, Herbert Fox and Paul Fox; sister Nevada Fox-Ward and Son-in-Law Tony Wetzel.
Services for Hurley will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday July 9, 2021, at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, 794 S Round Barn Rd. Richmond, IN 47374. Steve Fox will officiate. Burial will immediately follow in Goshen cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday July 8, 2021 at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church.
