Earl Williams, 90, formerly of Greens Fork, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, June 25 at the Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle.
Earl was born on January 19, 1931 to Joseph W. & Elsie L. Frame Williams. He graduated from Fountain City High School in 1950 and married the former Marcena L. Oler on June 10, 1951. They were blessed with two sons and 60 years together until her death on August 6, 2011. Earl was a US Army veteran and served in Germany.
Earl enjoyed a career with Second National Bank and was manager of the branch in Greens Fork. He also enjoyed helping out his brother & sister-in-law in their business, Williams Carpet, and doing carpentry and construction projects for people. Earl was a faithful member of the Centerville Church of the Nazarene.
Earl will be missed by his wife, Maria Hensley Williams, who he married on July 26, 2014; sons, Kevin & Kathy Williams and Kenton & Theresa Williams; grandchildren, Zeb Williams, Karman Williams, Karson Williams and Nicole Tabone; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Jasmin, Jessie and Lillianna; brother, Francis Williams and several nieces and nephews.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Marcena; and sisters Maxine Williams and Anna Marie Draver.
A funeral ceremony was conducted on Tuesday, June 29, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment was in Greens Fork South Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged for the Centerville Church of the Nazarene, 7181 US 40, Centerville, IN 47330.
