Charles F. Thomason, age 71, Richmond, passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family May 31, 2021. Chuck was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was the son of the late James and Alice Thomason.
Chuck was a 1967 graduate of Winchester Community High School. He attended college at Ball State University.
Chuck was a dedicated soldier of the U.S. Army for 23 years. He was stationed in Germany, served in the Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He was a loving husband of 45 years and a devoted father to his beloved sons. He was the rock of our family who always had the best advice to give. One of the most famous being, “Work smarter, not harder.”
Chuck was a patient, easy going man who could always find the positive in every situation. He was a good teacher and full of wisdom. You could feel both his strength and tenderness with just the touch of his hand. He was our tower of strength and our Teddy bear. Our hearts are full of memories, with pride we’ll speak your name. Though life must go on without you, it will never be the same.
He enjoyed lottery scratch offs, working in the garden and spending time with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife: Catherine Thomason, Richmond, IN; two sons: Shaun Thomason and Mike Thomason and his wife, Renee; two grandchildren: Anthony Luker and James Luker; one brother: John Thomason and his wife, Nancy; one sister-in-law: Meshelle Sterling; brother-in-law: Jeffrey Norman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and grandparents, he is preceded in death by a brother, James Thomason and his mother and father-in-law.
