Michael Gaddis, 73, of New Castle, Indiana, died Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana after a short illness. He was born on July 20, 1947 in Winchester, Indiana. He was a 1965 graduate of Lee L Driver High School in Winchester, Indiana. He went on to become a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, Professional and Engineer. He also was certified in Microsoft Network Administration and Information Technology from Indiana Business College. Michael was a United States Navy veteran, a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He loved camping, spending time with his wife and their cats, and his family.
Survivors include his father, Leon Levi Gaddis of Muncie; his children, Elizabeth (Tony) Thompson of Hagerstown, Sherry (John) Barlow of Muncie, Gregory Ballenger of Anderson; a sister, Karen (Eddie) Poole of Middletown; his grandchildren, Jacque (Tim) Mullin, Jesse Thompson, Katie Thompson, Joel (Macy) Thompson, Cassie Naylor, Briana Ballenger, Christopher Barlow, Wesley Ballenger, Colin Barlow, Christian Ballenger; his great grandchildren, Jerycha, James, Jonah, Jaron, Lilli, Audra, Emma, Deegan, Cordel, Ezra, Ariah, Braidyn and Chazdynn; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Jean (Pope) Gaddis on January 26, 2021. They were married on March 3, 2000; his mother, Doris June Newton; his brother, Richard E. Gaddis; and a great grandson, Austin John Thompson.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Saturday March 20, 2021 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.
