James Orville Kinsinger, 95, a resident of New Castle passed away Saturday morning, March 13, 2021 at Henry Community Health. He was born December 8, 1925 in Knightstown to the late Orville and Sarah (Jay) Kinsinger.
A retiree of Muncie newspapers after 30 years of service, he was a member of the Stereotypers Union. Jim was very involved with scouting and was an assistant Scoutmaster as well as an Eagle Scout. He was a longtime member of First Friends Church in New Castle and enjoyed summer vacations at Dewart Lake in Quaker Haven for 46 years. In the winters, Jim enjoyed the warmth of Bradenton, Florida for over 30 years. He was a veteran World War II where he served in Italy as an engineer. In 2014, he was able to attend the Honor Flight in Washington, D.C. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed all types of ballgames. Jim loved his family and was a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Karen Chance of New Zealand, Connie Bainbridge of New Castle and William Kelly (Mary) Thomas of Greensburg; grandchildren, Autumn Thomas of California, Allison Bainbridge of New Castle and Sam Rader of Muncie; son-in-law, Larry Rader of Muncie; brother: John Kinsinger of Lebanon, OH; a niece: Rebecca (Lee) Bowman of Wilmington, OH; nephews: Jay (Andrea) Kinsinger of Cedarville, OH and Jack (Gabriel) Kinsinger of Cincinnati, OH.
In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Kinsinger on January 18, 2021 and a daughter, Nancy Rader.
A celebration of life service will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday March 16 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Rick Schoeff officiating. Inurnment will follow at South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, prior to the service. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and the VFW.
