Ivan E. York, 68, Richmond, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie.
He was born on February 21, 1953 to Virgil J. & Mary F. Messer York. Ivan was an assembler at Wayne Corp. in Richmond until the plant closed. He later worked 11 years in the meat department at Meijer in Richmond. Ivan was a Cincinnati Bengals fan. He was an avid BINGO player and enjoyed playing the lottery. He liked watching game shows and Westerns and riding around in his golf cart.
Ivan will be missed by his brothers, Michael York & wife, Donna, Jim York, Larry York & wife, Laura, Jeff York & wife, Paula; sisters, Brenda Wadsworth & husband, Henry, Linda Wallace & husband, John; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Ivan will also be missed by his special canine friend, Lucky.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Ivan W. York, who passed away in 2000.
Public services for Ivan will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 6, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am – Noon on Saturday, March 6, at the funeral home.
