Frankie Joe Higgins, age 75, of New Castle, joined his beloved wife, Anna, in Heaven on February 28, 2021. He passed away at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana, surrounded by his loving children after a short illness and a courageous fight against cancer. Joe was born August 6, 1945. He was the son of the late Ernest and Martine V. (Taylor) Higgins.
Joe was a 1963 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School. He was owner and operator of Fun & Sun Pools in New Castle, IN. He was a member of First Assembly of God. Joe loved spending time with his family and friends and would do anything for any one of them. He had a true heart for helping people. You could always find someone sitting in the pool place that was stopping by to catch up, taking a peek at an antique or a classic car, or just driving down the street to say hello. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Savannah, working together at the pool place or riding around town-he always enjoyed his time with her. Joe loved the time he spent with family on his porch that he meticulously took care of by filling it with flowers, ferns, mums, and plants. Joe also enjoyed many hobbies. One of his hobbies was being a collector of life. Joe could always be found at a flea market, rummage sale, or swap meet, looking for his next antique. He enjoyed everything from the ‘50’s and ‘60’s including old custom cars, hot rods, and fast Corvettes. He enjoyed talking and spending time with all his hot rod buddies, going to cruise-ins or car shows, and being around anything car related.
Joe leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, a son, Ryan (wife, Mary) Higgins; a daughter, Heidi (Jeff Brummett) Higgins; a granddaughter, Savannah Lynn Brummett; significant other, Sue Winchester Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death in 2013 by his wife of 37 years, Anna Higgins; his parents, Ernest and Martine Higgins; two children, Troy Higgins and Hillary Higgins; three sisters, Sandra Salyers, Dorothy Jarvis, and Deloris Fourthman; two brothers, Ronnie Higgins and Donnie Higgins.
