Robert Riley Lawson, age 25, a New Castle resident, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Henry Community Health. He is now safely in the arms of Jesus.
He was born April 28, 1995 to Tiffany Lynn Welch and Robert Chad Lawson. He was a lifelong New Castle resident and worked in construction as a carpenter for several years. Riley had a great struggle in life since birth. He worked hard and diligently to provide for his children who were his whole world. He recently pursued an interest in an entrepreneurship where he hoped to start his own construction company in the future. His ambition and interest in construction was driven by his awesome co-workers who took him under their wing and mentored him in work and in Christ. Thank God for their willingness to help. Riley enjoyed working on and owning his special “birth year” Mustang. His ’95 Mustang was his after-hours project, as well as cranking up his music while he fined tuned his car. Although Riley had many challenges in life, he also had many happy times with his family on vacations, special outings, dinners, or any occasion to get together. One of his favorite memories was hearing his papaw Bob sing and play the guitar while singing his favorite song, “Sonny Boy.”
He is survived by his fiancé, Alyssa Lynn Marconi; his children, Isabelle Grace Riddle, age 5, Landon John Crane, age 5, and Robert Alexander “Xander” Lawson, age 3. He was also a special daddy to Joshua “Ayden” Prince, age 4. Survivors also include his grandparents that raised him, Bobby Joe and Treva “Joyce” Lawson; his parents, Tiffany Lynn Welch, and Robert Chad Lawson; paternal grandfather, Gary Welch and great-grandfather, Alvin. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friend, Chandler Hammond also survive.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Vickie Welch and great-grandmother, Doris Davis; paternal great-grandfather, Willie Hughes, who built the house Riley lived in, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friend, Tyler Blevins.
Special thank you to his friends and employers for their time and contribution for the funeral and to Sam Hall and Julie Newhouse for their kindness.
