Tommy Cantrell, 66, Liberty, passed away Saturday, February, 6, 2021, at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville.

Tommy was born to James Calvin Cantrell Sr. and Kathleen Ratliff Cantrell on January 5, 1955, in Richmond, Indiana. Tommy attended local area schools. He was an avid movie watcher, he especially enjoyed Westerns. Tommy loved John Wayne and enjoyed collecting John Wayne memorabilia. He loved all aspects of the western lifestyle.

Tommy loved to cruise through town, and had a passion for leather crafting, photography and other crafts. He enjoyed selling his handmade crafts at the Liberty Festival. He also loved to travel especially throughout the Western states, which were his favorite trips. Also, he always enjoyed going to Kentucky to visit his many relatives. Tommy was excited and proud to gain his independence when he obtained an electric wheelchair almost 50 years ago. Tommy was active in the Liberty community. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the Liberty Historical Society. Tommy’s greatest love was for his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother: Kathleen Cantrell; his siblings: James (Marcia) Cantrell of Liberty; Charles (Wanda) Cantrell of Everton; Robert Cantrell of Liberty; David (Sherry) Cantrell of Liberty; Eric (Michele) Cantrell of Connersville and sister-in-law, Carol Cantrell of North Carolina; nephews: Adam Cantrell; Jesse Cantrell; Matt (Janel) Cantrell; Andy (Loretta) Cantrell; Nathan (Raychael) Cantrell; Lee (Amanda) Cantrell; nieces: Sherron Wyatt; Casey Cantrell, Whitney (Cohle) Garrett and Rebecca (Billy) Dubuisson; many great nieces and nephews; special nephew: Michael Browning and special friends: Susie Carr; Rick Davis. Tommy is preceded in death by his father: James Cantrell Sr. and his brother Roger Lee Cantrell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, with Pastor Mick Miller officiating. Interment will follow at West Point Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to The Liberty Historical Society.
