Toni L. Van Gordon, 61, of Keystone, passed away on Saturday evening, March 31, 2018, at her residence.
Toni was born on September 5, 1956 in Angola, Indiana to Jerry & Shirley (Backer) Kidder.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974. She went and earned her B.S. in Recreational Management at Purdue University and played on the first Title IX Women’s’ Volleyball Team at Purdue.
It was at Purdue that Toni and John E. Van Gordon first met. They were married on June 23, 1979 in Fort Wayne.
Toni was a member of the Local Christian Assembly of New York and was a very talented quilter and was part of the Bee Happy Quilters Club. She also enjoyed sewing and knitting. She was currently working at Peyton’s Northern in Bluffton and has worked there since 1995.
Survivors include her father Jerry Kidder of Michigan, her husband John of Keystone and two children; Rachel (Bill) Maggard of Bluffton and Sam (Cheryl) Van Gordon of Frankfort along with four grandchildren; Benjamin, Alexander, Emily Maggard and Harper Roe. She is also survived by her sister Jean (Tom) Whalls of Glen Ellyn, IL. and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday (April 7, 2018) at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Pastors John Larbi and Nathaniel Goyco will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hartford City Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
