Denise Kay Burkhart, 70, passed away peacefully at her home in Richmond, Indiana on Sunday evening January 24, 2021, after a long journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Denise was born in Logansport, Indiana on June 16, 1950 to the late William T. and Betty Jo (Swearingen) Densborn. She was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Denise leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Cy; daughter, Heather Minor and husband Andy; grandchildren, Ben, Ryan and Noah Minor; siblings, Don Densborn (Kath), Bev Reid, Linda O’Brien (Kevin) and Greg Densborn (Amy); brothers in-law, Jerrie Burkhart (Judy) and Jeff Burkhart (Cindy), along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Several friends and caregivers helped her through her journey. We are particularly grateful to and thankful for Tammy Ramsey, Peggy Robinson and the recent help we were given by State of the Heart Hospice. We have been in the thoughts and prayers of many. All of that has given us strength.

Deed loved spending time with and caring for her family. She and Cy were married for 50 years and rarely spent a night apart. She loved to travel to sunny, beach locations with her family in tow. Most weekends, she could be seen on the sideline of a soccer field or basketball court, cheering for her grandsons. She rarely missed a game. Deed also had a passion for animals, rescuing and caring for many cats and dogs over the years. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures such as taking a walk, preparing a meal or drinking a glass of chardonnay.

With respect to her wishes, there will be no memorial services. Those wishing to honor her remembrance can do so with a donation in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association– 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl.17/ Chicago, IL 60601 (www.act.alz.org/donate).
