Mary Agnes Porch, 91, of Richmond, Indiana passed away on December 23, 2020. She was born on January 29, 1929 in Tuskegee, Alabama to Milo and Anna Lee Lane Williams.

Milo and Anna Lee moved their family from Tuskegee, Alabama to Richmond, Indiana. Mary Agnes confessed her faith at an early age under the leadership of Rev. F.W. Weathers and was baptized. Mary Agnes loved the Lord with all of her heart! Mary became very sick at an early age and was in and out of the hospital for years. She attended school, but was tutored most of her life. She kept her faith in the Lord.

She married Robert Leon Porch and they had a lot in common, loving the Lord! They both worked at Belden Corporation and Mary retired from there. Mary loved her children, Church, her family and friends. She was devoted to them all. Mary Agnes was a great babysitter. The Williams family Reunion was her Joy, she worked real hard to make sure a place was reserved for the reunion. She was in the Williams singers group, which was made up of her sister, cousins and friends. Mary stayed busy working for the Lord, she was a member of Greater Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Carl and First Lady Elaine Radford (her cousins), which she was very proud of. She served where she could, a member of the Mass Choir, women’s Ministry, Living Sounds, Voices of Peace and the list goes on. She received many awards, the NAACP special award in 1990 for her loyalty and dedication to civil rights, a certificate of appreciation in 1992 by the Agency on Aging Meals Program in recognition and deep appreciation for outstanding commitment as a volunteer and service to the Area 9 Agency on Aging and the Senior Citizens in our area, an appreciation award in 1996 in dedication to Area 9 in-home and community services agency, an awards certificate, that one neighbor can make a difference for a better neighborhood in 1996 from Fairview neighborhood association, a certificate for outstanding service in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her parents Milo and Anna Lee, her husband Robert Leon Porch, her son Aaron Porch, sisters Anna Bridgforth, Catherine Green, Freda Lorraine Williams, and Carol Sue Arjurn, brothers Milo Jr., Herman, Von Earl, Carl Allen, Eugene and Kenneth, brothers-in-law Wayne and Donald Porch, niece Betty Louise Williams, nephew Brian D. Williams, friend Woodrow Kelley, cousin/best friend Ruby Stevens; and a good friend: Ruth Walker.

She will greatly be missed by her children David, Eileen (Ernest), Darlene and grand dog Perky; sister-in-law Linda M. Porch (Willie) Sligh; brothers Albert (Gae Ann) Williams, Dwight Edward (Brenda) Williams; close aunt Alberta Williams; like a son James Kirtz; like a daughter Mary Kelley; her Church family, Diane and Marylin Givens made sure she got to Church; Lavera Patterson made sure she got to her Doctors visits; her special cousins Pev, Ted and Brett Stevens; special niece Margaret Swann; favorite cousin Napoleon Williams Jr.; special friends and family Johnnie Garrett, Frances Sanders, Sadie Hodgkin, McGathey and Bynum family, Tammy Whitaker, Frances Moore and Joyce Johnson. Her special cousins who always called to check on her Tommie and Carrie Williams, Etta Lundy and Tommy Porch; her cousin Margaret Spicer for coming to sit with her. Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who cared for mom and Kim Harvey for sending pictures.
